We look for staff that are enthusiastic and empathetic, caring and compassionate, resilient and resourceful, and who want to work as part of a team to help our clients to feel happy, safe, and well-supported.
We put a strong emphasis on ensuring our staff feel valued so they can be at their best. We take time to meet and support our staff in their individual development and encourage training or becoming part of projects that promote their strengths and nurture their development. Staff are offered mandatory training, a yearly personal development review and the Care Certificate training where appropriate.
Staff also meet outside of work for events such as meals, quizzes, comedy nights, and sports events.
We have staff who work across our service in supporting individuals who have moved from hospital or other facilities into our two shared houses, or those who are further along their journey to independence who have been referred to be supported to live in their own flats, so every day is different.
Many of our staff have had long careers in care work or are trained healthcare professionals, so there is always a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon.
We work closely with our referrers, fellow professionals, and community partners to help our clients achieve their goals with the level of support that they need . This collaborative approach is also underpinned by the high quality of our documentation and monitoring, making communication with others fluid.
Staff regularly communicate with a range of professionals and attend review meetings or support clients in medical appointments where required.
Our clients are encouraged to work through a collection of life skills that will enable them to take their next steps. Staff support clients to engage in social activities, manage their finances, make and attend appointments, support them taking medications, or support them with shopping and cooking, to name but a few tasks.
Each day comes with its own variety of tasks and staff often feel that this is a highlight of the role.
